Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Fernhill Landscape Studio (“Fernhill”, “we”, “us”) collects through fernhill.studio, how we use it and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Information you give us during a project is also covered by your contract with us.

What we collect

  • Details you send us through the project form: your name, email, phone number, address, the services you’re interested in, your rough budget and anything you tell us about your garden.

  • Your email address, if you sign up for our seasonal notes.

  • Basic, anonymous usage data, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are, so we can see what’s useful. This does not identify you personally.

How we use it

We use your details to reply to you, arrange a site visit, prepare a design or quote and, if you become a client, to run your project and care plan. We send seasonal notes only to people who asked for them, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that help us run the studio, such as our website host, email provider and scheduling tools, and only as much as they need to do their job. We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Inquiries that don’t become projects are deleted after two years. Client records are kept for as long as we look after your garden and for seven years afterwards, for tax and warranty reasons.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@fernhill.studio. You can unsubscribe from seasonal notes using the link in any email.

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies it needs to work and to count visits anonymously. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Children

This site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.

Terms of service

These terms apply to your use of this website. By using it, you agree to them. Design, build and care work is governed by the written agreement we sign with you, not by these terms.

Using this site

You’re welcome to browse, read and share our pages for personal use. Please don’t copy our photos, plans or articles for commercial use, or try to interfere with how the site works.

Quotes and estimates

Prices, budgets and timelines shown on this site, including care plan prices, are a guide. A quote becomes binding only once we’ve visited your site and you’ve signed a written agreement with us.

Our advice

The articles in our journal are general advice for gardens in the North Carolina Piedmont. Every site is different, so treat them as a starting point and ask us, or another professional, before doing anything structural, electrical or near utilities.

Guarantees

Plant guarantees and workmanship warranties are set out in your project agreement. Anything described on this site is a summary of those terms.

Photos and content

All text, photos, plans and designs on this site belong to Fernhill or are used with permission. Project photos are shown with our clients’ consent.

Links to other sites

We sometimes link to other websites. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Liability

We work hard to keep this site accurate and available, but we can’t promise it will always be either. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses that come from using the site or relying on its content.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of Wake County.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed.
